HOW TO: Install StrongKey AdminGUI (TEST Environment)


This step assumes that you have successfully installed the MySQL database, JDK5, Sun Application Server, and all the previous steps. If not, please finish that before continuing with this step. It also assumes that you have downloaded the StrongKey distribution and extracted it into a directory called /usr/tmp. If you have extracted the distribution in a different directory, substitute that directory for /usr/tmp.

n order to use the StrongKey Administration GUI, the Mozilla Firefox browser should be used. If you don't have Mozilla Firefox in your environment, please go to http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ to install one.

Deployment of the StrongKey AdminGUI

The strongkeygui.war need to be deployed on the application server. For more information, refer to the documentation How To Deploy strongkeygui war

Configure SSL Client Authentication



Import StrongKey Certificates




Import the server and client certificates that comes with StrongKey distribution. For more information, refer to the documentation To Import StrongKey Certificates



Configure Security on the Application Server




The Application Server also needs to be configured in order to use SSL Client Authentication. For more information, refer to the documentation How To Secure the Application Server

Launch the AdminGUI



Open a Mozilla Firefox browser, and go to https://localhost:1433/strongkeygui/ .

You might get an Security Error: Domain Name Mismatch, but ignore it and click on OK button.

On the User Identification Request pick a role from the drop-down menu, and click on OK button.

The browser also will prompt you for a password. Enter strongkey and click on OK button.

Now you will see the StrongKey welcome page , and to continue click on Click here to continue...

it will take couple of second to authenticate you as a user and the Strongkey Home page will appear.

Congratulation, you successfully launched the StrongKey Administration GUI. For more information on how to use the GUI, click on Help link at the top-right corner of the page.
