HOWTO: Install Java Web Services Developer Pack
2.0 on Windows |
In order to install the JWSDP 2.0, you must have downloaded the free Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.2 from Sun's website, and installed it as documented in this installation check-list. StrongKey makes the assumption that the product is installed in c:/usr/local/sjsas82/jwsdp-2.0. You can, however, install it anywhere you wish. The documentation will refer tot the installed location as $JWSDP_HOME. If the images on this page are not clear, right-click on the image and choose View Image to see a larger rendition. |

Download the installation file jwsdp-2_0-windows-i586.exe from Sun's website into a temporaty location. |
2 |
Execute the installation file using jwsdp-2_0-windows-i586.exe |

If you executed this from a Command Prompt window, this should bring up a graphical installation wizard. If you executed this from Windows Explorer, it will bring up a Command Prompt window and the wizard. You can ignore the Command Prompt window during this installation – but do not exit it till the installation is finished. |
